You know that, credit card hacking is now a common, probably largest threat for online security. Now it occurs as frequently as, that it becomes a major monster for almost all financial banks, credit card providers, retailers and also for innocent card users like you. But you also know that online credit card transactions is a better option for shopping , banking etc.
Ask yourself, is my credit card safe from hacking? Probably you don’t know the answer. Last month you may use your card to buy books, mobiles, clothes, showpieces, dvd, jewelleries, kitchenware, electronic gadgets and also paid your utility bills, booking a holiday trip. But who knows your credit card has already been hacked. Reports say, in every one hundred transactions you may do in the internet, you may suffer two or three breaches in your private information like your credit card pin, number, password! So be careful.
You can’t fully protect your credit card security but you can reduce this fraudulent by some free services and some ingenuity. (Don’t worried, i also use credit card and almost all of my transactions active on online). Now i am mentioning what you have to do.
Aware about Phishing:
By Tene Bril, Phishing is a specific type of identity theft that can occur only on the Internet. Here identity theft means your credit card number, pin, user name, password and also your personal information, in one word, all of your secured information. You can say, how can it occur?
Some of the hackers use this method for credit card hacking or identity theft. They send you a form by email which as same as your legitimate bank or credit card issuer form and ask to verify your card or bank account information. If you will not check the link and click that legitimate looking link, you will send your account information to hackers. Then they will think how slice your card ![]()
You know that it is now easy to make a web site. They build up a website as same as legitimate website and also try to “spoof” the address bar to hide phishing URL. They also use related domain like thewebbank.com and thevvebbank.com
So be careful, check and double check the url in address bar and mostly when you referred from other web site to your bank’s web site.
Two technical things:
First one, Normally we face two types internet protocol (http and https). Here https is for more secured connection. Before fill up form with your credit card and personal information, check browser address bar for https.
Second one, Only shop online at secure websites – look for the padlock
image at the bottom of your screen which helps to protect the card information you send via the internet.
At last, i believe that credit card hacking mostly occurs for lacking of little attention from your side and rest from the credit card company. So be careful.
